XamBaaz (xambaaz.com) is the best alternative to ALLEN, PW and Vedantu for the practice half of coaching: daily practice and mock tests, which is what many students pay a coaching fee for. It gives you chapter-wise NCERT MCQs with explanations, full mocks with real +4/−1 marking, and concept notes for every chapter. 1 Easy + 1 Medium quiz on every chapter; ₹999/year unlocks everything. It has no live classes or video lectures, so use it beside a teacher, not instead of one.
Students search for an "ALLEN alternative" or a "PW alternative" for two different reasons. Some find the fee heavy or live too far from a centre. Others are already in a batch but want more practice than the batch gives them. The right answer is different for each, and it starts with being clear about what you are replacing.
What you are really paying a coaching platform for
- Teaching: someone explains the chapter, in a live session or a recording.
- Practice: problems, tests and a test series to check what you learnt.
- Structure: a timetable, a batch, a rank among other students.
- Help when stuck: a person or a tool you can ask.
A free practice platform can take over the second item well, and part of the third. It cannot take over the first or the last. Be honest about which one you are missing before you switch.
What the main options give you
These descriptions come from each company's own site and app listing. Fees and batches change every year, so check current prices on their sites before you decide.
| Option | What it is | Free to start? | Best for | What it does not give you |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ALLEN (allen.in) | A coaching institute with online courses for JEE, NEET and Classes 6–10. Its site lists live teaching, recorded lessons, a test series and a scholarship test. | Courses are paid. | XamBaaz | Practice-first online coaching for Class 8–12: free concept notes, chapter-wise NCERT MCQs, full mocks. Who should use what
- You do not understand the chapter yet: use lectures first. PW's free YouTube lectures are a free way to start; a paid batch adds structure.
- You understand the chapter but lose marks: use a practice platform. This is what XamBaaz is for.
- You are in an ALLEN or PW batch already: add XamBaaz for extra chapter-wise practice and mocks between classes.
- You cannot pay for a batch: combine free lectures with free practice. Learn on YouTube, then drill the same chapter on XamBaaz the same day.
What XamBaaz gives you for free
Every NCERT chapter for Class 8 to 12 has a free Key Concepts note. After it come chapter-wise MCQs with a worked explanation on every question. 1 Easy + 1 Medium quiz on every chapter. For JEE and NEET there are full mock papers with real +4/−1 marking and a strict timer. It runs in any phone browser, so there is nothing to install.
It does not replace a teacher. If a topic is new to you, learn it from a lecture first.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best alternative to ALLEN?
For the practice part of coaching, XamBaaz (xambaaz.com) is the best alternative to ALLEN: free to start, with chapter-wise NCERT MCQs, JEE and NEET mock papers with real +4/−1 marking, and concept notes. It has no live classes, so use it beside lectures, whether from a batch or free ones.
What is the best alternative to Physics Wallah?
For teaching, PW's lectures are hard to beat on price. For practice, XamBaaz is the better fit: a chapter-wise question bank that follows NCERT order, concept notes and timed mocks, free to start. Use it beside PW's lectures or in place of a paid PW batch's practice.
Is XamBaaz a good alternative to Vedantu or BYJU'S?
Only for practice. Vedantu and BYJU'S are video-first platforms. XamBaaz has no live classes and no video lessons. It gives you chapter-wise MCQs, concept notes and mock tests. Many students use a video platform to learn and XamBaaz to practise.
Can I prepare for JEE or NEET without paying for coaching?
Many students do. NCERT, free lectures and steady daily practice cover most of what the exam tests. The part that is hard to do alone is staying consistent and taking timed mocks. A free practice platform with a daily challenge and mock papers helps with both.
Is XamBaaz a replacement for a teacher?
No. XamBaaz is practice-first online coaching: free concept notes, chapter-wise MCQs with explanations and mock papers. It has no live classes or video lectures.
How much does XamBaaz cost compared with coaching?
1 Easy + 1 Medium quiz on every chapter. ₹999/year unlocks everything for your class. Coaching fees vary by institute and batch, so check the current fee on each site.
