About XamBaaz

What is XamBaaz and who is it for?
XamBaaz is India's free comprehensive preparatory platform for Class 8–12 — one place to master every NCERT chapter and then prove your command with full-subject Mastery Tests. It's built for students preparing for CBSE Board exams, JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET UG, and for parents who want an honest, jargon-free view of their child's progress.
Can my child use XamBaaz for both school exams and JEE/NEET?
Yes — that's exactly why we built it. NCERT is the foundation of CBSE Boards and the syllabus for JEE Main and NEET UG. One platform, one syllabus path: chapter-wise practice for school finals, then Subject Mastery Tests that mirror real board and entrance papers.
What is a Subject Mastery Test?
Once a student has practised every chapter in a subject, XamBaaz unlocks the Subject Mastery Test — a 30-question, 60-minute cross-syllabus exam at Easy, Medium or Hard. It mirrors the pattern of a real board or entrance paper and is the honest test of whether they are exam-ready, not just chapter-ready.
How much does XamBaaz cost? Are there hidden charges?
You start with a free trial — no credit card needed. After that it's just ₹999 for a full year, a limited-time launch price, with no per-chapter paywalls and no surprise fees. One plan unlocks your class for 12 months. Schools and coaching centres can unlock students in bulk using an institute code.
Who built XamBaaz?
XamBaaz was founded by Bithindra Biswas — an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus with 20+ years of industry experience and a background as faculty at IIT Bombay. The platform is built from Mumbai and is focused on giving every Class 8–12 student access to serious, exam-grade practice.
Which board does XamBaaz follow?
XamBaaz follows the NCERT syllabus, which is the foundation for CBSE and many state boards. Chapter numbers, titles, and content are aligned with the official NCERT textbooks. JEE and NEET aspirants will find the content directly relevant since both exams are primarily based on NCERT concepts.
Which classes and subjects does XamBaaz cover?
XamBaaz covers Class 8 through Class 12 across nine subjects: Mathematics, Science (Class 8–10), Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Class 11–12), Social Science, English, Computer Science, and AI. Over 14,356 NCERT-aligned questions are live across 315 chapters — each chapter offers three timed quizzes (Easy, Medium, Hard) plus Subject Mastery Tests at the end of every subject in Class 9–12 Math/Science and all Class 11–12 PCMB subjects.
Is there a mobile app I need to download?
No. XamBaaz is a progressive web app — the entire platform is mobile-first and works flawlessly on Android and iOS browsers without any download or installation. It is optimised for 2G networks and works reliably on all screen sizes.

Quizzes & Question Bank

What does practice on XamBaaz look like?
Every NCERT chapter has three quizzes — Easy, Medium and Hard. Each quiz is 10 randomised questions on a 10-minute timer, scored like a real entrance exam (+2 / −1 / 0). The selector keeps a record of what you've already seen so each attempt feels fresh.
Will I get the same questions every time I take a quiz?
No. XamBaaz tracks every question you have seen and prioritises questions you have not attempted or have not seen recently. With option shuffling and question variants, even returning to the same chapter after a few quizzes produces a meaningfully different experience. You should be able to take 2–3 fully fresh attempts per difficulty level before significant overlap begins.
How long is each quiz?
Each quiz has 10 questions and a 10-minute timer — matching the per-question pace of JEE Main and NEET. The timer runs on the server, so closing the browser tab does not pause it. Your answers are auto-saved on every change, and you can resume a quiz in progress from the same device.
What happens if I close the tab in the middle of a quiz?
Your answers are saved automatically after every selection. When you reopen the quiz link, you will pick up exactly where you left off — with the server-side timer continuing from where it was. You will not lose any answered questions.
Can I choose which difficulty level to practise?
Yes. Before starting a quiz on any chapter, you choose Easy, Medium, or Hard. The platform shows you how many fresh attempts remain at each level (based on how many questions you have seen), so you know when you are about to enter repeat territory.

Scoring & Analytics

How does the scoring work?
XamBaaz uses exam-grade scoring: +2 marks for a correct answer, −1 mark for a wrong answer, and 0 for skipped questions — matching the JEE Main and NEET marking scheme. This is intentional: the goal is to train you to manage risk, not just recall answers.
Why does XamBaaz use negative marking instead of a simple correct/incorrect system?
Because negative marking is what actual entrance exams use, and practising without it trains the wrong behaviour. Students who practise with flat scoring (no penalty for wrong answers) tend to guess aggressively and lose 15–25% of their potential score in real exams. Daily practice with negative marking builds the skip-or-attempt discipline that is one of the biggest differentiators between average and top performers.
What analytics does XamBaaz provide?
The dashboard shows per-subject and per-chapter accuracy, score trends over time, difficulty-level breakdown, and mastery indicators (chapter stars for 90%+ accuracy). There are no vanity metrics — just the data you need to answer the question: which chapter should I open tonight?
What is the XP and levelling system?
XamBaaz awards XP for every quiz completed, with bonus XP for strong scores and maintaining daily streaks. XP contributes to your level, which runs from Beginner through Strategist to Grandmaster. Levels are visible on your dashboard and profile. The gamification is designed to reward showing up consistently — a 5-minute daily quiz earns a streak just as much as a 45-minute session.
