- What is XamBaaz and who is it for?
- XamBaaz is India's free-to-start practice platform for Class 8–12. It is one place to learn every NCERT chapter, then test yourself with Subject Mastery Tests. It's for students preparing for CBSE Board exams, JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET UG. It's also for parents who want a clear, honest view of their child's progress.
- Can my child use XamBaaz for both school exams and JEE/NEET?
- Yes — that's why we built it. NCERT is the base of CBSE Boards and the syllabus for JEE Main and NEET UG. On one platform, you practise chapter by chapter for school exams, then take Subject Mastery Tests that follow real board and entrance papers.
- What is a Subject Mastery Test?
- Once a student has practised every chapter in a subject, XamBaaz unlocks the Subject Mastery Test. It is a 30-question, 60-minute test on the whole subject, at Easy, Medium or Hard. It follows the pattern of a real board or entrance paper. It shows if they are ready for the exam, not just for one chapter.
- How much does XamBaaz cost? Are there hidden charges?
- 1 Easy quiz on every chapter stays free forever, plus the chapter's Key Concepts revision card where there is one. So you can use XamBaaz without paying at all. During your free trial you get 1 Easy + 1 Medium quiz on every chapter. The Medium quiz is only for the trial; after it ends, the free plan stays at 1 Easy quiz on every chapter. To unlock the rest (all Easy and Medium quizzes, every Hard quiz and every mock paper), pay ₹999 for a full year. This limited-time launch offer ends 1 December 2026 (regular price ₹2,999). No per-chapter fees, no auto-renewal and no surprise charges. Teachers pay ₹2,999/year until then (regular ₹9,999) for all classes 8–12. Schools and coaching centres can unlock students in bulk with an institute code.
- Who built XamBaaz?
- XamBaaz was founded by Bithindra Biswas, an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus with 20+ years of industry experience who has also taught as faculty at IIT Bombay. XamBaaz is built in Mumbai. Its goal is to give every Class 8–12 student good, exam-style practice.
- Which board does XamBaaz follow?
- XamBaaz follows the NCERT syllabus. It is the base for CBSE and many state boards, including the Maharashtra HSC (Balbharati) syllabus for senior-secondary science. Chapter numbers, titles and content match the official NCERT textbooks. The content is useful for JEE and NEET too, since both exams are mostly based on NCERT.
- Does XamBaaz cover the Maharashtra HSC board and MHT-CET?
- Yes. For Class 11–12 Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology, XamBaaz follows the Maharashtra HSC syllabus as well as CBSE. This includes extra HSC-only chapters that CBSE doesn't cover. There are also full-length MHT-CET mock papers at Easy, Medium and Hard. The practice is NCERT-based, so it closely matches the Balbharati textbooks used for Maharashtra HSC.
- Which classes and subjects does XamBaaz cover?
- XamBaaz covers Class 8 to Class 12 across 8 subjects: Mathematics, Science (Class 8–10), Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Class 11–12), Social Science, English, and Computer Science. Over 30,071 NCERT-aligned questions are live across 419 chapters. That makes 2,800+ timed quizzes — Easy, Medium and Hard, 9 on a typical chapter. There are also Subject Mastery Tests at the end of every subject in Class 9–12 Math/Science and all Class 11–12 PCMB subjects.
- Is there a mobile app I need to download?
- No. XamBaaz is a progressive web app. It works in any Android or iOS browser, with nothing to download or install. It is built for phones first, works on 2G networks and fits every screen size.
- What is the best free app or website for JEE preparation?
- A good free JEE platform should give chapter-wise NCERT practice in Physics, Chemistry and Maths, with real +4/−1 negative marking, full-length JEE Main mock tests and chapter-wise progress reports. It covers CBSE and Maharashtra boards plus JEE Main, JEE Advanced, MHT-CET and NEET UG, with no per-subject or per-chapter fees. One flat plan for both school boards and entrance practice is meant to cost less.
- Does XamBaaz have adaptive practice and a full test series, or just static questions?
- Both. Adaptive quizzes change with every answer, based on your speed and accuracy, across three difficulty levels. Your level carries into your next attempt. Beyond chapter practice, there are full-length Subject Mastery Tests and JEE, NEET and board mock papers, with a real exam timer and real exam marking. Chapter-wise accuracy reports show which chapter to revise next — honest, with no fake streaks.
Exams & Syllabus
- Does the CBSE board exam have negative marking?
- No. CBSE board papers award marks for a correct answer and take nothing away for a wrong one, so leaving a question blank is never better than attempting it. That is the opposite of JEE and NEET, and it is why board practice and entrance practice have to be scored differently.
- Is NCERT enough for JEE and NEET?
- For NEET Biology it very nearly is, because most of the paper is drawn line by line from the NCERT text. For Physics and Maths, NCERT is the foundation but not the finish: those need graded problem practice above textbook level, which is what the Hard tier and the full-length papers are for.
- What is the difference between MHT-CET and JEE Main marking?
- MHT-CET has no negative marking, so attempting every question is the correct strategy. JEE Main deducts a mark for a wrong answer, so a guess you cannot narrow down costs you. Practising both on the same scoring rules is how students end up with the wrong instinct on exam day.
- Can one syllabus cover school exams and entrance exams together?
- Largely yes, because both are built on NCERT. The chapters a Class 11 or 12 student studies for boards are the same chapters JEE, NEET and MHT-CET draw from; what changes is the depth of the questions and the marking. Practising chapter by chapter on the NCERT order is what lets one year of work serve both.
Quizzes & Question Bank
- What does practice on XamBaaz look like?
- Every NCERT chapter has Easy, Medium and Hard quizzes — 9 on a typical chapter, since each level has enough questions for several sets that don't repeat. Each quiz has 8-10 random questions (10 in most classes, 8 in Class 8) and a 10-minute timer. It is marked like a real entrance exam (+4 / −1 / 0). XamBaaz remembers what you've already seen, so each attempt feels new.
- Will I get the same questions every time I take a quiz?
- No. XamBaaz tracks every question you have seen. It picks questions you haven't tried, or haven't seen lately, first. Options are shuffled and questions vary, so the same chapter feels different even after a few quizzes. You can usually take 2–3 fully new attempts at each level before questions start to repeat.
- How long is each quiz?
- Each quiz has 10 questions and a 10-minute timer — the same time per question as JEE Main and NEET. The timer runs on our server, so closing the tab does not pause it. Your answers save each time you change one, and you can go back to an unfinished quiz on the same device.
- What happens if I close the tab in the middle of a quiz?
- Your answers save automatically each time you pick one. Open the quiz link again and you continue where you left off. The timer keeps running on our server. You won't lose any answers.
- Can I choose which difficulty level to practise?
- Yes. Before you start a quiz on any chapter, you choose Easy, Medium or Hard. XamBaaz shows how many new attempts are left at each level, based on the questions you have seen. So you know when questions are about to repeat.
Scoring & Analytics
- How does the scoring work?
- XamBaaz marks like the real exam: +4 marks for a correct answer, −1 mark for a wrong answer, and 0 for a skipped question — the same as JEE Main and NEET. Board-pattern and MHT-CET papers are different on purpose: neither has negative marking, just like the real CBSE and MHT-CET papers. The goal is to teach you when to answer and when to skip, not just to recall answers.
- Why does XamBaaz use negative marking instead of a simple correct/incorrect system?
- Because real entrance exams use negative marking, and practising without it builds bad habits. Students who practise with no penalty for wrong answers tend to guess a lot, and can lose 15–25% of their marks in the real exam. Daily practice with negative marking teaches you when to attempt and when to skip. That habit is one of the biggest differences between average students and toppers.
- What analytics does XamBaaz provide?
- Your dashboard shows your accuracy in every subject for Easy, Medium and Hard, side by side. It also shows your strongest and weakest chapters, a 30-day activity map, and chapter stars for 90%+ accuracy. No feel-good numbers — just what you need to decide which chapter to study tonight.
- How do XP and ranks work?
- You earn XP for every quiz you finish, with bonus XP for strong scores and daily streaks. Your XP gives you a Current Rank among XamBaaz students across India, plus a separate rank in your class. Both show on your dashboard, your home page and after every quiz. You also see exactly how much XP you need to pass the student just above you — often just one quiz. The board is weekly, so a quiet week drops you down and a good week moves you back up.
Privacy & Technical
- How do I sign in? Do I need to create a password?
- Sign in with your Google account — one click, no passwords, no OTPs. We use Google sign-in (OAuth), so you don't need a new account or another password.
- Does XamBaaz sell or share my data?
- No. XamBaaz uses your Google ID only to sign you in and save your quiz progress and results. We do not sell, rent or share student data with advertisers or third parties. Student data is stored securely and used only for your own dashboard.
- What stays free, and what do you charge for?
- We pay for XamBaaz with one flat yearly plan — not with ads, and not by selling student data. Free forever, with no card and no time limit: 1 Easy quiz on every chapter, Key Concepts revision cards on most chapters, your full progress dashboard and the public practice library. The paid plan (₹999/year for students, ₹2,999/year for teachers) unlocks the other Easy and Medium quizzes, every Hard quiz, and every full-length Mastery, Board, JEE, MHT-CET and NEET paper. Schools and coaching centres can unlock students in bulk with an institute code. Plans are one-time payments — nothing auto-renews — and we announce any price change clearly and in advance.

- We care about getting every question right. If you find a wrong fact, a wrong answer key or a confusing question, tell us through the feedback link in the app, or contact us. We check and fix reported questions within 48 hours.
