Science careers after Class 12 are far wider than MBBS and engineering. Pure science, statistics, allied health, agriculture, and earth and space science each have their own degrees and entrance exams, all listed below with official sources.

Class 8: build the base
Class 8 Science and Maths are the base for everything later. Fix gaps now, while they are small.

Class 10: choose your stream with care
Your Class 11 subjects decide which entrance exams you can sit. Keeping Maths with Biology keeps the most doors open.

Class 12: sit more than one exam
Keep more than one door open. Many of these exams are separate from JEE and NEET, with their own forms and dates.

What are the science careers after Class 12 other than MBBS and engineering?
Pure science at IISERs, NISER and IISc; maths and statistics at ISI and CMI, or the actuarial route; health careers such as dentistry, nursing, pharmacy and allied health; agriculture and food science; and earth and space science.
Which exam is the entrance to central universities?
CUET (UG). Its scores are used for undergraduate admission at all central universities and at participating state, deemed and private universities.
How many students take JEE Advanced?

Which stream should I choose after Class 10?

Is there a scholarship for studying science?
Yes. INSPIRE-SHE is worth ₹80,000 a year for students in the top 1% of their Class 12 board who study a basic science.
