Find a rational number between 1/4 and 1/2.
To find a rational number between 1/4 and 1/2, take their average: (1/4 + 1/2)/2 = (1/4 + 2/4)/2 = (3/4)/2 = 3/8. Check: 1/4 = 2/8 < 3/8 < 4/8 = 1/2. So 3/8 lies between 1/4 and 1/2.
Rationalise: 1/(2+√3).
1/(2+√3) × (2−√3)/(2−√3) = (2−√3)/(4−3) = (2−√3)/1 = 2−√3.
